Jabes Gaghana Bupati ‘Pembayar’ Hutang Daerah

Sangihe, VivaSulut.com— Di tengah berlangsungnya Pilkada Kabupaten Kepulauan Sangihe, isu mengenai Dana Pemulihan Ekonomi Nasional (PEN) menjadi topik hangat yang digunakan oleh lawan politik untuk mengkritik pasangan calon Jabes Ezar Gaghana (JEG) dan Patras Madonsa dengan slogan mereka, “Menggana”. Beberapa pihak menuding bahwa penggunaan dana PEN hanya akan menambah beban utang daerah, meskipun fakta menunjukkan bahwa dana tersebut telah membawa perubahan signifikan di pusat kota Tahuna.

Dengan menggunakan dana PEN, sejumlah infrastruktur telah dibangun, termasuk Pasar Rakyat Trikora dan Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah (RSUD) Liun Kendaghe Tahuna yang hampir selesai. RSUD ini diharapkan menjadi fasilitas rujukan bagi masyarakat Kepulauan Sangihe. Selain itu, berbagai proyek lain seperti pembangunan jalan dan sarana prasarana juga turut dibiayai oleh dana tersebut.

Jabes Gaghana, sebagai politisi berpengalaman, merespons kritik ini dengan tenang. Saat diwawancarai, ia hanya tersenyum dan menjelaskan bahwa dana PEN adalah pinjaman daerah, bukan pinjaman pribadi. Ia menegaskan bahwa semua pinjaman tersebut digunakan sepenuhnya untuk kepentingan masyarakat.

“Saya kira, sebagai seorang pemimpin, apapun bentuk pinjamannya, jika digunakan untuk kepentingan rakyat, tentu wajib dilunasi,” kata Gaghana. Ia juga menambahkan bahwa selama masa kepemimpinannya, ia tetap bertanggung jawab melunasi pinjaman daerah dari periode sebelumnya tanpa mempermasalahkan siapa yang berutang.

“Pada tahun 2018, saya masih melunasi pinjaman daerah dari tahun 1992 dan 1993, yang digunakan untuk membangun terminal-terminal seperti Terminal Tona, Towo’e dan Terminal Manente. Semuanya saya selesaikan tanpa mengeluh kepada masyarakat,” lanjut Gaghana.

Selain itu, Gaghana menyebut bahwa selama menjabat, ia juga menyelesaikan utang Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum (PDAM) demi kepentingan dan kesejahteraan warga Sangihe.

Menutup pernyataannya, Gaghana menegaskan bahwa pasangan “Menggana” hadir dengan semangat pelayanan untuk membawa perubahan yang lebih religius dan berbudaya bagi Sangihe. Slogan kampanye mereka, “Doa Adalah Kunci”, mencerminkan komitmen ini. (*)
