Akibat erupsi tersebut, wilayah Minahasa Utara dan sekitarnya mengalami hujan abu yang cukup mengganggu aktifitas.
Olehnya, Bupati Minahasa Utara Joune Ganda lewat Dinas Pendidikan memutuskan meliburkan kegiatan belajar mengajar pada tanggal 30 April hingga 3 Mei 2024.
“Masyarakat khususnya yang terdampak abu vulkanik dan gas SO2 dihimbau untuk mengurangi atau tidak melakukan aktifitas di luar rumah. Sekolah sudah diliburkan dan terus memonitor himbauan dari pemerintah melalui pemerintah kecamatan dan desa masing masing,” ujar Bupati Joune Ganda kepada VivaSulut.com.
Namun begitu, meski sekolah libur, guru dan pengawas sekolah tetap melaksanakan tugas di satuan pendidikan.
