Menteri KKP dan Hengky Honandar Cek Lokasi Timbun Laut di PPS Bitung

Bitung, VivaSulut.com  – Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan (KKP) berencana memperluas area Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera (PPS) Kota Bitung.

Rencana perluasan itu dilakukan dengan cara menimbun laut atau reklamasi dan kesiapannya dicek Menteri KKP, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, Selasa (4/6/2024).

Pengecekan lokasi reklamasi dilakukan rombongan Menteri KKP didampingi Wakil Wali Kota Bitung, Hengky Honandar.

Sakti mengatakan tujuan perluasan area pelabuhan di wilayah Kantor PPS Kota Bitung, untuk menunjang pertumbuhan ekonomi masyarakat, khususnya para pelaku usaha perikanan dan nelayan di Kota Bitung.

“Pastinya reklamasi ini, untuk perluasan area pelabuhan, agar supaya daya tampung kapal terpenuhi, dari jumlah 1000 dapat menjadi 1500an lebih selain itu dapat menampung industri dan lebih meningkatkan ekonomi sektor perikanan,” kata Sakti.

Rencana reklamasi, kata Sakti, bakal dimulai pekerjaannya di tahun ini. Dan hasil pengecekan yang dilakukan di area PPS Kota Bitung bakal dibahas dalam rapat internal KKP untuk selanjutnya diputuskan kapan pekerjaan dimulai.

“Semoga dalam beberapa bulan kedepan proses pekerjaan bisa dimulai setelah dilakukan pembahasan internal,” katanya.

Hadir juga dalam pengecekan lokasi rencana reklamasi Kepala Dinas Kelautan Provinsi Sulawesi Utara dan Kepala Dinas Kelautan Kota Bitung, Sadat Minabari serta jajaran KKP RI di Kota Bitung.
