Keegan mendaftar sebagai calon wakil wali kota di partai berlambang mercy ini dan pendaftarannya diterima Ketua DPC Partai Demokrat Kota Bitung, Lady Joke Lumantouw didampingi tim penjaringan Calon Wali Kota dan Wakil Wali Kota Bitung periode 2024-2029.
Sebelum menyerahkan berkas pendaftaran, Keegan menyampaikan terima kasih kepada Partai Demokrat Kota Bitung yang telah mengundang dirinya untuk mendaftar sebagai salah satu calon yang akan diusung di Pilkada 2024.
Ia mengaku sangat terhormat dengan undangan pendaftaran itu dan menyatakan siap untuk dicalonkan Partai Demokrat Kota Bitung jika nantinya mendapat restu dari partai.
“Saya siap untuk dicalonkan dan bersama-sama Partai Demokrat membangun Kota Bitung lebih baik ke depan,” kata Keegan.
Pun demikian, kata Wakil Ketua DPRD Kota Bitung ini, soal pencalonan di Pilkada 2024 diserahkan sepenuhnya ke Partai NasDem dan Partai Demokrat.
“Sebagai kader, tentu saya selalu siap untuk menjalankan perintah partai. Termasuk jika memang nantinya direkomendasikan untuk maju di Pilkada 2024,” katanya.
Lady sendiri menyampaikan terima kasih kepada Partai NasDem Kota Bitung, khususnya ke Keegan yang telah datang memenuhi undangan pendaftaran yang diberikan partainnya.
Sesuai sistem penjaringan Partai Demokrat, kata Lady, Keegan datang mendatar sebagai calon wali kota dan wakil wali kota.
“Jadi nanti DPP yang memutuskan, apakah Pak Keegan akan maju sebagai calon wali kota atau wakil wali kota sesuai dengan elektabilitas,” kata Lady.
Anggota DPRD Kota Bitung terpilih ini juga menyampaikan akan intens melakukan komunikasi dengan Keegan termasuk Partai NasDem terkait proses mendapatkan SK dari DPP.
“Pendaftaran akan kami buka sampai batas waktu yang tidak ditentukan,” katanya.
Hadir juga dalam proses pendaftaran itu sejumlah kader Partai Demokrat seperti Max Purukan, Shirley Jeane Pangau dan Bendahara Partai NasDem, Nancy Thomas.
