Bitung, VivaSulut.com – Badan Narkotika Nasional (BNN) Kota Bitung menyatakan fenomena menghirup lem ehabond atau ngelem di kalangan remaja sudah di taraf mengkuatirkan.
Fenomena ini, kata Kapala BNN Kota Bitung, Kompol Widarsono SH MH harus segera dihentikan dan menjadi perhatian bersama demi menyelamatkan anak-anak muda terjerumus lebih jauh hingga beralih ke penggunaan Narkoba.
Menurutnya, ngelem adalah langkah awal atau pintu masuk untuk beralih ke jenis Narkoba lainnya seperti obat-oabatan serta jenis narkotika lainnya.
Hal itu disampaikan Widarsono saat menggelar Press Realese 2024 dengan tema Pemguatan Strategi dan Aksi Kolaborasi Dalam P4GN di Kantor BNN Kota Bitung, Senin (23/12/2024).
“Perlu peran semua pihak untuk memberantas fenomena ngelem ini. Baik itu peran Wali Kota, DPRD, Polisi dan tokoh masyarakat serta agama harus bersama-sama mengatasi minat remaja ngelem,” kata Widarsono.
BNN kata dia, dalam memerangi fenomena ngelem, terus melakukan eduksi terhadap pelajar terkait bahaya menghirup ehabond. Termasuk juga melakukan deteksi dini terhadap remaja yang mulanya hanya coba-coba jangan sampai menjadi kecanduan.
“Kami berharap, Wali Kota dan DPRD menerbitkan Perda terkait penyalagunaan lem ehabond. Dengan harapan, peredaran lem ehabond tidak dijual bebas atau mudah didapatkan untuk disalahgunakan,” katanya.
Widarsono juga memaparkan data, selang 2024, BNN Kota Bitung telah melakukan rehabilitasi terhadap 26 orang klien. Jumlah pasien rehab itu, sebagian besar akibat ngelem serta penggunaan shabu dan obat-obat keras.
“Jadi jangan anggap sepele dengan fenomene ngelem ini, karena jika tidak segera dicegah bakal berakhir dengan ketergantungan. Bersyukur jika masih bisa rehab dan sembuh, tapi jika tidak ditangani maka bisa berujung kematian,” katanya.
Hadir juga dalam Press Realese 2024 itu, Kepala Sub Bagian Umum BNN Kota Bitung, Mellisa Rany Bintang, Katim Rehabilitasi BNN Kota Bitung, Jean Rondonnuwu, Katim Pemberantasan BNN Kota Bitung, Jemi Tampungan dan Katim Pencegahan dan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat, Angelina Sepriana.
