Ini Harapan Pemuda dari Debat Paslon Pilkada Bitung 2024

Bitung, VivaSulut.com – Debat perdana pasangan calon (Paslon) Wali Kota dan Wakil Wali Kota Bitung menjadi perhatian pemuda Kota Bitung.

Debat perdana bakal digelar KPU Kota Bitung di Grand Kawanua Convention Center Manado Kelurahan Kairagi II Kecamatan Mapanget Kota Manado, Minggu (6/10/2024).

Ketua Bidang Hukum, HAM dan Advokasi Pemuda Muhammadiyah, Isman Suaiba punya harapan besar kepada Paslon Pilkada Kota Bitung di debat perdana.

Harapannya, menjadikan debat perdana sebagai ruang menyuguhkan konfrontasi konstruktif, apalagi Pilkada Kota Bitung hanya punya dua paslon.

“Tentunya kami berharap muncul pertanyaan-pertayaan kritis dari masing-masing Paslon serta dijawab dengan cara yang substansial. Agar ada pertukaran gagasan yang sehat serta bisa memungkinkan pemilih untuk menggali lebih dalam dan memahami prespektif masing-masing calon,” ujar Isman.

Isman menilai debat Paslon merupakan momen penting dalam proses demokrasi saat ini. Paslon, katanya, memiliki kesempatan menyampaikan visi, misi dan rencana kerja kepada pemilih.

“Dalam konteks ini, penting untuk menilai bahwa kualitas debat tidak hanya terletak pada aspek pertunjukan atau gimik semata. Tetapi lebih pada substansi dan kejelasan ideologi, serta rencana nyata yang dimiliki oleh masing-masing calon,” katanya.

Pun begitu, ia mendorong peran aktif masyarakat memonitor dan menilai kualitas debat.

“Pemilih harus bersikap kritis. Agar juga tak terhayut ke dalam suasana dramatis yang menjauhkan dari cara berfikir logis. Karena esensi debat itu menitikberatkan terhadap gagasan dan ide,” katanya.

Selain fokus terhadap esensi debat, menurutnya, masyarakat juga bisa mencari informasi lebih lanjut setelah debat terkait data dan fakta yang disampaikan oleh masing-masing Paslon.

“Apa yang disampaikan paslon patut dicerna. Guna mengupas seluruh ide dan gagasan yang telah disampaikan untuk kemudian diperbandingkan kepada ide, gagasan serta solusi terbaik,” katanya.
