Minut, VivaSulut.com – Tokoh Katolik di Kabupaten Minahasa Utara (Minut), Gerardus Luntungan, menyambut kedatangan Paus Fransiskus di Indonesia, Selasa (3/9/2024).
Anggota Badan Kerjasama Antar Umat Beragama (BKSAUA) Minut ini menyebutkan bahwa kedatangan Paus Fransiskus di Indonesia sebagai perjalanan apostolik yang membawa berkat.
Sebagai informasi, jadwal perjalanan kunjungan Sri Paus Fransiskus akan berlangsung dari tanggal 3-6 September 2024.
Sejumlah jadwal telah tersusun mulai dari pertemuan dengan Presiden RI Joko Widodo, dialog persaudaraan dan kemanusiaan dengan tokoh lintas agama dan acara puncak dengan Perayaan Ekaristi di Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Senayan Jakarta pada 5 September 2024 pukul 17.00 WIB yang diperkirakan akan dihadiri 90-an ribu umat
Katolik.
“Kunjungan Paus Fransiskus tidak hanya memberikan kegembiraan di Ibu Kota Jakarta, tapi juga seluruh Indonesia, tidak terkecuali di Minahasa Utara,” ujar Gerardus Luntungan, kepada VivaSulut.com, Senin (2/9/2024).
Lanjut Luntungan, perjalanan Paus Fransiskus ke Indonesia adalah suatu perjalanan yang membawa dua kapasitas sekaligus, yaitu sebagai pemimpin umat Katolik di dunia juga sebagai pemimpin sekaligus Negara Vatikan.
“Sebagai Paus, dia melakukan kunjungan apostoliknya, sebagai pengganti rasul Petrus yang mengunjungi umatnya di negara Indonesia dan sebagai tamu negara juga, karena memimpin negara Vatikan. Semoga perjalanan kunjungan Paus Fransiskus memberikan rahmat kebaikan cinta kasih dalam persaudaraan dan kemanusian,” ujarnya.
Gerardus Luntungan sendiri merupakan Ketua Pemuda Katolik Cabang Minahasa Utara tahun 2005-2009 yaitu Ketua Pemuda Katolik Pertama di Bumi Tonsea.
“Mari kita doakan agar kunjungan Bapak Paus Fransiskus berjalan lancar dan membawa sukacita injil dan pengharapan terciptanya kerukunan, kedamaian dan kebaikan umat manusia” harap Ketua Vox Point Indonesia Cabang Minahasa Utara ini.
Dari data yang dihimpun, umat Katolik di Minahasa Utara tersebar di 6 gereja paroki dengan jemaat sebanyak belasan ribu jiwa.
Umat Katolik di Minut adalah bagian dari umat Katolik di Keuskupan Manado.
