Buka ANBK, Wagub Steven Kandouw Minta Pelajar Sulut Tingkatkan Kualitas untuk Bersaing di Dunia Kerja

Tomohon, VivaSulut.com – Wakil Gubernur Sulawesi Utara (Sulut) Steven Kandouw membuka Asesmen Nasional Berbasis Komputer (ANBK) tahun 2024 untuk seluruh satuan pendidikan SMA, SMK dan SLB di Provinsi Sulut sekaligus peresmian gedung teaching factory teknik instalasi tenaga listrik SMKN 1 Tomohon dan job fair SMKN 1 Tomohon, Senin (19/8/2024).

Ia memesankan banyak hal bagi peserta didik, khususnya anak-anak kelas 10, 11 dan 12, yang sebentar lagi akan berhadapan dengan persaingan di dunia kerja.

Wagub Steven Kandouw mengatakan bahwa dengan modal tekad dan semangat pasti jalan akan terbuka.

“Jangan pernah berpikir, oh nanti saja belum saatnya. Tidak. Kalau ingin kualitas di atas rata-rata dari sekarang harus punya komitmen,” ujarnya.

Syarat lainnya untuk sukses, Kandouw membagikan kiat agar konsentrasi dalam belajar.

“Saya harapkan untuk selalu punya tekad, semangat dan target hidup. Orang yang tidak punya target hidup ibarat kapal di laut dia tidak tahu ke mana arahnya. Jadi anak-anakku SMK Negeri 1 Tomohon harus punya target hidup. Karena kalau kita punya target hidup itu prasyarat . Yaitu konsentrasi dalam belajar,” pesannya.

Di samping itu Kandouw mengingatkan peserta didik untuk menghindari hal-hal yang menjadi sampah masyarakat seperti narkoba dan lain lain.

“Hindari alkohol, karena dalam semua jenjang pendidikan yang lebih tinggi maka tempat kerja selalu periksa tes kesehatan. Kalau sudah konsumsi alkohol pasti pankreasnya sudah terganggu. Kepada yang laki-laki jangan pernah melakukan tatto. Ini merusak.

“Lebih daripada itu, tetap ibadah andalkan Tuhan dalam segala hal. Ora et labora, berdoa saja tidak cukup harus tetap bekerja. Saya lihat anak-anak di sini adalah anak-anak yang betul-betul punya visi kesempatan yang sudah diberikan Tuhan negara dan orang tua untuk belajar di sekolah. Sekali lagi saya ucapkan selamat kepada guru dan murid harus punya tekad untuk sama-sama maju,” pungkasnya.

Di sisi lain, Wagub Steven Kandouw berharap agar kehadiran gedung teaching factory teknik instalasi tenaga listrik SMKN 1 Tomohon dapat dimanfaatkan secara maksimal.

“Dari tampilan infrastrukturnya, fasilitasnya semua sudah baik. Demikian juga dengan sarana dan prasarana semua tersedia dengan baik. Namun untuk pendidikan, data sarana dan prasarana itu cuma sebagai penunjang. Intinya seperti yang diassesment sekarang ini, bahwa literasi kita, kemampuan numerasi kita karakter kita, itu yang penting,” ungkap Kandouw sembari memuji terobosan sekolah yang melaksanakan job fair.

“Job fair ini adalah reprositas dengan kualitas artinya, infrastruktur yang bagus sarana dan prasarana yang bagus tetapi kualitas anak-anak kita ini, jauh panggang dari api. Jangan banyak berharap apabila industri yang membutuhkan tenaga kerja akan merekrut kita apabila kualitas nya rendah,” ucap Kandouw.

Pada kesempatan tersebut, kepada guru-guru diingatkan untuk terus meningkatkan kapabilitas dan kemampuan dalam memberikan pelajaran.

“Saya yakin kepala dinas sudah cukup komprehensif mempersiapkan. Meski demikian semua berpaling kepada anda anda juga. Apabila anda tulus, berintegritas dan komitmen pasti output dan outcome nya cukup besar,” sebut Kandouw.

Turut hadir, Walikota Tomohon Caroll Senduk, jajaran pejabat, guru-guru dan siswa SMKN 1 Tomohon.
