Manado, VivaSulut.com – Pemilihan Kepala Daerah (Pilkada) di Sulawesi Utara tahun 2024 mulai ramai dibicarakan masyarakat.
Selain Pemilihan Gubernur atau Pilgub Sulut, pemilihan bupati dan wali kota pun tak kalah ramai dibahas di mana-mana.
Beberapa nama mulai digaungkan untuk menjadi top eksekutif. Rata-rata merupakan birokrat pemerintahan maupun pimpinan partai politik.
Namun, ada juga satu nama perempuan yang tak kalah dirindukan masyarakat.
Adalah Nova Sumolang, satu nama yang terucap oleh beberapa kalangan masyarakat, baik kaula muda, petani nelayan, serta emak-emak.
Masyarakat mengungkapkan bahwa perlu ada figur baru dalam kontestasi di Pilkada Sulut, terlebih khusus tingkat kabupaten dan kota.
Nova Sumolang sendiri adalah pengusaha asal Sulut yang berdomisili di Jakarta namun tetap aktif dalam kegiatan sosial kemasyarakatan di Sulawesi Utara.
Ferdinan Umpel seorang nelayan di Minahasa Selatan ingin ada perubahan lebih baik dengan hadirnya figur-figur baru pada kontestasi Pilkada nantinya.
Ia berpendapat selama ini banyak yang belum maksimal mungkin karena didominasi oleh figur-figur lama.
Hal senada juga disampaikan Marthin Rompas, petani asal Minahasa yang mendambakan figur baru untuk bisa memimpin, dan mereka menyebut Nova Sumolang harapan ke depan.
Sementara bagi kaum milenial berharap adanya kandidat kepala daerah yang bisa mengakomodir serta membuka ruang lebih bagi anak-anak muda di Sulawesi Utara.
Natalia Paat, seorang gadis asal kota Tomohon lebih condong kepada kandidat perempuan.
“Harapannya tentu agar bisa berlangsung ekosistem gender yang seimbang serta perlindungan terhadap kaum perempuan dan perhatian penting untuk anak-anak,” ujar Natalia.
