Manado, VivaSulut.com – PT PLN (Persero) menargetkan pembangkit listrik hingga 75 persen berbasis energi baru terbarukan (EBT) di tahun 2040.
Direktur Utama PLN Darmawan Prasodjo mengatakan bahwa kolaborasi antara PLN dan GD Power asal Hongkong berperan penting dalam pengembangan energi hijau di Indonesia.
Kolaborasi ini sekaligus bagian dari upaya transisi energi PLN yang merancang penambahan kapasitas pembangkit 75 persen berbasis energi baru terbarukan (EBT) dan 25 persen berbasis gas hingga tahun 2040.
PT PLN (Persero) menggandeng perusahaan energi asal Hongkong GD Power Overseas Investment Company Limited (GD Power) untuk mengembangkan Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya (PLTS) Terapung Karangkates, Jawa Timur, kapasitas 129 Megawatt peak (MWp).
Begitu beroperasi, PLTS Karangkates akan memberikan banyak manfaat untuk sektor ketenagalistrikan di Indonesia, termasuk peningkatan kapasitas EBT dan mereduksi emisi karbon hingga 180 ribu ton CO2 per tahun.
Selain itu, pengembangan PLTS Karangkates diharapkan mendukung momentum laju pertumbuhan ekonomi nasional.
