Maurits Mantiri Bicara Politik di Hadapan Tokoh Agama Bitung

Bitung, VivaSulut.com – Wali Kota Bitung, Maurits Mantiri menyatakan tokoh agama sangat penting menjaga keamanan Pilkada Kota Bitung.

Sehingga dalam setiap tahapan Pilkada, tokoh agama wajib dilibatkan agar bersama-sama dengan penyelenggara dan aparat keamanan lakukan berbagai antisipasi.

Pernyataan itu disampaikan Maurits saat menjadi pemateri di Rapat Koordinasi Peran Strategis Tokoh Enam Agama dalam Menjadikan Pilkada Bitung yang Aman dan Damai Tanpa Hoax dan Ujaran Kebencian serta Media Gathering Peran Pers dalam Menyajikan Berita yang Independen, Valid dan Menyejukkan, Jumat (15/11/2024).

Kegiatan itu digelar KPU Kota Bitung dan Maurits membawakan materi dengan judul Peran Strategis Hamba Tuhan di Enam Agama dalam Menyukseskan Pilkada Bitung.

“Tokoh agama harus rutin menggelar pertemuan agar tahu mengantisipasi setiap gejolak di tengah masyarakat. Dan saya mengapresiasi KPU menggelar Rakor dengan mempertemukan semua tokoh agama,” kata Maurits.

Apalagi kata dia, saat ini tahapan Pilkada yang tidak bisa dipungkiri semua penuh kecurigaan. Fenomena itu, kata dia hanya bisa dicegah dengan trust. Dan trust itu hanya bisa diciptakan oleh para tokoh agama.

Peran tokoh agama menjaga keamanan, lanjut dia, telah dibuktikan dengan peristiwa 26 November 2024. Menurutnya, tokoh agama bahu membahu meredakan situsasi agar tidak memanas hingga berkepanjangan.

“Kami bersama lintas tokoh agama langsung lakukan pertemuan dan berkoordinasi meredakan situasi. Upaya itu mendapat apresiasi dari Presiden Joko Widodo ketika makan siang di River Side saat kunjungan kerja di Kota Bitung,” katanya.

Dirinya juga menyampaikan politik adalah bukan sesuatu yang dibuat pemimpin tapi apa yang dipikirkan rakyat lalu direalisaikan pemimpin.

“Makanya sangat penting kehadiran pemimpin di tengah masyarakat. Baik itu pertemuan ataupun kegiatan-kegiatan masyarakat agar tahu apa yang diinginkan masyarakat,” katanya.

Hadir juga dalam rapat itu, Ketua KPU Kota Bitung, Deslie Sumampouw, komisioner KPU, Yunnoy Servulus Rawung dan Frangky Takasihaeng dan Sekretaris KPU Kota Bitung, Paula Tuturoong serta tokoh-tokoh agama.
