Ia juga mengaku, kendati tergolong tua, Vespa adalah kendaraan yang tidak rewel dan sangat mudah untuk memperbaiki jika terjadi sesuatu di jalan. Alasan itulah yang menjadikannya sebagai tunggangan andalan melibas jalur Bitung-Manado setiap kuliah.

“Makanya saya sangat senang kalau lihat anak-anak muda masih menggunakan Vespa di jalan. Karena pasti, mental mereka adalah penjuang yang gigih serta mandiri. Karena namanya menggunakan Vespa harus paham mesim dan apa penyakitnya,” katanya.

Maurits juga mengapresiasi kepada panitia Bitung Scooter Day 2024 yang telah menggelar kegiatan dengan menghadirkan pecinta Vespa dari daerah lain.

Dirinya berharap, iven seperti Bitung Scooter Day rutin digalar di Kota Bitung dengan tujuan menjadi wadah kreatifitas dan silaturhmi sesama pecinta Vespa.

“Ajang ini juga menjadi wadah promisi bagi pemerintah karena kami tahu pecinta Vespa selalu berpetualang. Ceritakanlah dan ajaklah pecinta Vespa yang lain untuk berkunjung ke Kota Bitung,” katanya.

Sementara itu, dari data panitia, Bitung Scooter Day 2024 diikuti 171 peserta dari berbagai daerah di Sulawesi Utara dan dari luar.
