Manado, VivaSulut.com – Gubernur Provinsi Sulawesi Utara, Olly Dondokambey, hadir dalam Opening Ceremony Knowledge Sharing Program on Maternal and Child Health Handbook (KSP MCH HB) 2024, di Hotel Luwansa Manado (21/10/2024).
Mengawali sambutannya Olly menceritakan kisah inspiratif seorang perempuan asal Sulawesi Utara telah memberikan kontribusi besar dalam dunia kesehatan yakni dr Marie Thomas.
Marie yang lahir 17 Februari 1896 di Likupang, tercatat sebagai dokter wanita pertama di Indonesia.
“Dedikasinya terhadap kesehatan ibu dan anak sangat luar biasa, khususnya dalam bidang kebidanan, beliau dikenal sebagai pelopor dalam praktek kedokteran yang memberikan perhatian khusus kepada pelayanan kesehatan ibu hamil dam bayi baru lahir,” ucap Gubernur.
Semangatnya dalam menjaga kesehatan ibu dan anak bahkan di tengah keterbatasan menjadi inspirasi termasuk dalam kegiatan kali ini, yang digelar guna memperkuat penggunaan buku kesehatan ibu dan anak.
Lebih jauh, dengan meningkatkan kapasitas tenaga kesehatan dan pengelolaan program kerja sama antar lintas sektor untuk menjaga keberlanjutan perawatan kesehatan ibu, bayi baru lahir dan anak serta memantau pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak.
“Pertumbuhan ini sangatlah penting dalam memperkuat upaya kita bersama melalui peningkatan kapasitas yang baik dengan manager program kita akan semakin siap menghadapi tantangan kesehatan ibu dan anak ke depan,” tuturnya.
Dia menyebut esensi dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk memperkuat penggunaan buku kesehatan ibu dan anak sebagai alat pemantau yang efektif terhadap pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak.
Bukan hanya sekadar catatan medis melainkan juga panduan penting bagi setiap keluarga dalam menjaga kesehatan ibu dan anak sejak masa kehamilan hingga tumbuh kembang anak.
Dengan kerja sama antar sektor yang kuat kita bisa memastikan bahwa setiap ibu dan anak mendapat pelayanan kesehatan yang berkesinambungan dan berkualitas.
“Untuk itu saya mengapresiasi seluruh dokter dan tenaga kesehatan dan seluruh stakeholder atas dedikasi dan kerja sama sehingga acara ini dapat terselenggara di Sulawesi Utara dengan baik,” kata Gubernur.
Dondokambey berterima kasih atas kepercayaan menjadikan Sulut sebagai tuan rumah kegiatan yang sangat penting ini.
“Mari kita manfaatkan momen ini untuk membangun sinergi dan kolaborasi yang lebih kuat antara Pemerintah, institusi kesehatan dan masyarakat luas. Hanya dengan kebersamaan kita dapat mencapai tujuan besar dalam meningkatkan kualitas kesehatan ibu dan anak di seluruh dunia,” pungkas dia.
Kegiatan ini dihadiri dokter dan tenaga kesehatan, perwakilan Kementerian terkait, serta delegasi dari sejumlah negara.
