Bitung, VivaSulut.com – Kabar duka menyelimuti insan Pers Kota Bitung. Elvis Ontah, salah satu Pers di Kota Bitung berpulang, Sabtu (10/8/2024).

Kabar bepulangnya Elvis disampaikan Ketua Persatuan Wartawan Indonesia (PWI) Kota Bitung, Muaz Taizar Basalamah.

“Teman dan saudara kita, Elvis Ontah telah berpulang hari ini sekitar pukul 8.15 Wita RSUP Prof Kandou,” tulis Taizar di grup WhatsApp PWI Kota Bitung.

Menurut Taizar, Alm Elvis meninggal setelah menjalani perawatan intensif di RSUP Prof Kandou Kota Manado karena sakit kurang lebih sebulan.

“Sebelumnya Alm sempat dirawat di RSUD Manembo-nembo sebelum dirujuk ke RSUP Prof Kandou karena tiba-tiba drop dan tidak sadarkan diri,” katanya.

“Atas nama pribadi dan organisasi, kami sangat kehilangan sosok Alm. Semoga keluarga yang ditinggalkan diberi kekuatan,” katanya.

Sementara itu, Alm Elvis lahir di Pinapalangkow pada 9 Oktober 1979 dengan nama lengkap Elvis Doan Wiratno Ontah.

Semasa hidup, Elvis bekerja di salah satu perusahaan Pers online yang memberikan tugas liputan di Kota Bitung dan tinggal bersama istri dan dua anaknya di Perum Meyta Dua Kelurahan Manembo-nembo Kecamatan Matuari.

Alm Elvis rencananya akan dimakamkan, Senin (12/8/2024).
