Bitung, VivaSulut.com – Iven Merdeka Run & Walk Bitung 2024 sukses digelar dengan ratusan peserta dari berbagai daerah di Sulawesi Utara (Sulut), Sabtu (10/8/2024).
Ratusan peserta dilepas Wali Kota Bitung, Maurits Mantiri di depan Kantor Wali Kota yang menjadi titik start dan finish perlombaan.
Wali Kota sebelum melepas peserta menyampaikan penghargaan kepada ratusan peserta dan panitia yang telah ikut ambil bagian dalam Meredeka Run & Walk Bitung 2024.
Menurutnya, acara ini terselenggara berkat kolaborasi kerja Komunitas Berlari Bitung (Kobra) Bitung dengan Pemkot Bitung dan TPB PT Pelindo, Toyota Hasrat Abadi, Kedai Keloearga 88 dan 37 sponsor lainnya.
“Bagi peserta dari luar, selamat datang di kota kami dan selamat berlomba. Iven ini adalah salah satu bukti kerja melandong atau gotong royong yang selama ini kami gelorakan,” kata Maurits.
Dari laporan panitia, kata Maurits, ada 600 orang yang mendaftar sebagai peserta Merdeka Run & Walk Bitung 2024.
“Pesertanya bukan hanya dari Kota Bitung, tapi dari beberapa daerah di Sulut,” katanya.
